#36 People (September 15, 1997)
This cover of People features a black and white photograph of Princess Diana, and the issue is a tribute to her life after she was killed in August 1997 in a car crash. Diana appeared on the cover of the magazine a record 52 times and was one of the most popular People cover subjects. In 1981, she married Prince Charles and arguably became one of the most famous women in the world. She was lauded for her high-profile involvement in AIDS issues and for an international campaign against landmines. Diana's death was greeted with extraordinary public grief, and her funeral at Westminster Abbey drew an estimated three million mourners in London, as well as worldwide television coverage.

That she is happy & and I like how the lighting is , and how the black & gray make the picture really go together . This picture is formal , cause she is up straigh smiling and looking straight ahead with a plain backround.

WARM UP !! :D

1. What did you see happen when you clicked on the photo? That it was soft , and it got bigger.
2. How does this new camera work? It has an off & on button & when you have the pic it focuses on the foreground or backround.
3. What do you think a photographer would have to know about to take this kind of photo (remember its a point-and-shoot, so its full manual mode, what do you need to know about) About light & how to really make that picture have focusing.
4. Is it worth the money? Yes , it does the job for you and maybe you want it to be in the front or back.

Self Portrait and Portraits Part II

1. Think about your motivation and emotions: Blankly staring at the camera rarely gets good results. Be silly, don’t be afraid to over-act. The worst that can happen is that you fill up your memory card with useless photos; but you might also find yourself with a proper gold-nugget of a self portrait.
2. A mirror or some other reflective surface offers an even easier way to take a self-portrait. In most cases, the camera will be included in the scene (but this can help make a statement about your enthusiasm for photography). You can use your camera as a prop, and hold it away from your face. When you photograph into a mirror, be sure your reflection is in focus. An infrared autofocusing system will usually focus on glass if it's aimed into a mirror, and will focus at infinity if aimed at an angle. You might try focusing at an object that's the same distance as the distance from the camera to the reflection, lock in the focus, recompose the image to include yourself, and take the picture.
3. Use a tripod. Seriously. While it’s possible to get good photos while you’re hanging on to your camera at arms-length, it’s a lot easier if you’ve got the freedom to move around a bit.

--------------------------------------------

I really like this picture, because the environment is a cemetery & the girl is still very happy, and i like how there is just that pop of color. And she still smiles.

I like this because of the back round , and how it looks cool. The different color contrast, its just a great picture because you still focus on him.

--------------------------------------------

I like this picture because the pop of color, and how her facial expression is.

I like this because its cool how its a picture within a picture, and how you would think she is smiling by what she is wearing. And i like the lighting and colors

--------------------------------------------

My favorite because its a picture perfect moment because how they are posing, and how the colors go all together.

I like this because it follows the rules of thirds & then its adorable how they are just holding hands, and i like how you can tell there happy .

--------------------------------------------

I want to take pictures of fashion and like really bring it out , I'm thinking of trying to find just a white background, if not then just outside , and I'm going to try and get pictures on days where its not so sunny and try to follow the rules of photography.

I think a good picture must follow the rules of thirds. Have an idea behind it, tell something about it. Then also be clear not blury unless thats what they where going for. And I would like taking a portrait of someone else, because i feel you can tell a better story & take a better picture.

Shortlist - Warm Up :)

The landscape is beautiful, they got it at a great at a great angle.

This is my favorite picture because even though the man is small your eyes want to look it at him right away & of course i just like how it looks.

I LOVE HOW her hair just sorta goes with the background & her facial expression fits the picture .

This is just the cutest little girl , the background makes her standout & its like almost simple. They got the idea about family out.

This is one of my favorites because its caught at a good moment, you can see trees & the landscape in the bubble. And it focuses in the bubble & sorta blurs out the little girl.

This looks great almost like not real, and i like where the picture was tooken and how its black and white.

I like how it shows what happen in each flower, and it has that simple elegant feeling to it.
This was my favorite because you feel like you there , you can see the splash.

This one was my FAVORITE over all because I love how it looks like its not real, how there is no possible way that could be it. Its so colorfull & vivid.

Even though its suppost to show movement its very clear & crisp & i love how you can still tell they where moving.

1. They maid her lips bigger, added more hair to her, made her neck longer her eyebrows lower, her shoulders lower, her eyes bigger, her face skinnier.
2. Its unethical because its not showing what the product really does, and your just lying to the person buying it. Your showing something unreal.
3.Yes, you have to consider to at lease show the truth .. especially if your trying to tell a story about something that happen along time ago. Because people can be mislead.
4. The only changes that are okay is if the picture you are taking just for fun that's the only time you can change it. And if your taking a picture of something going on like for  example a war then you don't want to edit and make it seem like a lot of people are dead or all you should do is try to make it clear and make it brighter if needed.
5.Fashion photography , takes pictures & talks about clothing, shoes, jewelry & stuff you wear. And photojournalism you take pictures that you want you don't have a specific subject.
6.Every photographer has a different view on reality & they have different ways of taking picture & how they should be edited.

Photoshop .

  1. I really liked this photo, because its so amazing where the picture is at. Its so different, and it lookes like an almost impossible picture. And with the gray & white it makes it look clear & perfect. So futuristic.
  2. I would sumbit a picture of a happy girl in the middle of a garden dancing , with a smile on her face.

---------------------------------------------
A .In the pictures that where photoshoped , people where taken out, & some made seem like more things had happen than actually. And many photo editors where fired for things that they shouldnt have been doing.

B.
Taking pictures & editing them to not actually show what going on is lieing. Your suppose to take pictures to capture the momment not to try & tell a lie .

---------------------------------------------

This picture is so unethical because your not doing the right thing, this is so childish. And it should not be done.

This picture is not showing the truth but its not a big deal, they where just trying to get the point across. And i its still sort of telling the truth. And Its not that bad of a change.

Abandoned Theme Parks

1. In my personal opinion I would rather go to the second one, I don't want to get killed or in an "accident". Besides all the creepy dinosaurs, are cool!

2.

3. -An abandoned house, cemetery, a school when no ones there, a scary maze. and finally a dark alley.

4.

5. I would love to take pictures of an old abandoned home, because its so delicate & scary. You never know what you will find or what you can take a picture of.

6. I would need a camera, a light so i can take pictures in the dark. Then I would have to ask if i could tress pass, because it might be Private property. And i would need to but a ticket to find a place to where this is.

Where he is coming homing , and the basic training , Ian coming home album shows how much he is missed and how the parents & all the other family members are happy to finally be with him . All there worries are gone. Also the album where he is having training because it shows the hard work that they have to go through and how much strength he had put into it , how much he work and all his determination.

They tell us the story behind the picture .

3. Your own caption

A .In the second album , the last photo : Ian gets his new gun prepared to go into fighting . Even though his not holding it ready & playing around his ready.

It can show his actuall emotion, we can hear his voice . You can tell how he feels in the tone of his voice. What he does in a day to day bases.

Because they focus on that very momment, you honestly grab there emotion at that momment , you can tell in there eyes what there doing.

Great Black & White Photography 3

1.The creativity , and how she would try to make the picture simple but still have so much to say .

2. I see the sunlight through the trees , buildings that look old that seem from a century away . And then the ocean hitting against the bridge , the cars passing the bridge . With people looking at it .

1. The pictures were beautiful, they where like if you where actually there.
What was your favorite photo? Describe it and tell me why its your favorite
The one with the Giraffe & tree , Is had a tall tree that seems so perfect , with a big tall Giraffe , seeing out into the area.

Look up the photographer –
a.     What kind of camera did he use? He uses a Pentax 67II with only two fixed lenses

b.    What is his reason for taking the photos? he says : I'm not interested in creating work that is simply documentary or filled with action and drama, which has been the norm in the photography of animals in the wild. What I am interested in is showing the animals simply in the state of Being. In the state of Being before they are no longer are. Before, in the wild at least, they cease to exist. This world is under terrible threat, all of it caused by us. To me, every creature, human or nonhuman, has an equal right to live, and this feeling, this belief that every animal and I are equal, affects me every time I frame an animal in my camera. The photos are my elegy to these beautiful creatures, to this wrenchingly beautiful world that is steadily, tragically vanishing before our eyes.

c.     What is his hope by taking these types of photos? Getting the animals spirt .

d.     Find something he has to say about Africa and post the quote on your blog
